Santa has arrived at his Grotto in Erneside!
On Sunday 12th November Santa arrived at his famous grotto with talking reindeer in Erneside Shopping Centre. He arrived in style in his sleigh pulled by a real reindeer and special guests. On the Erneside Facebook page there was an opportunity for a family to win the chance to arrive with Santa, the lucky winners were Mark, Sarah, Noah and Ollie Burns who got to meet Santa before his arrival and receive special Christmas presents.
The centre was full of excited children and families waiting to see Santa in his grotto, all entertained with Christmas music and festive cheer by the DJ and his little helper. Erneside had special guests from the North Pole, Toby Pinecone who was checking the naughty and nice list, Giggles the juggling elf, the Christmas Pixi and his fairy lit bike and The Spectre – Santa’s tallest elf!
There was festive face painting and balloon modelling free for all children and a selfie mirror for all the family. Olaf from Frozen was also at the centre meeting children and giving out chocolate coins and candy canes. There were perfect photo opportunities for all the family with Santa’s sleigh and reindeer outside the centre for families to sit in and meet
The grotto will be open every Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 1-5pm and every Saturday 11am – 5pm. During Christmas week there will be extended opening hours for Santa’s grotto. There is a collection for local charity Ellie’s Retreat at Castle Archdale at the grotto – all donations are greatly appreciated.
